How to make air fryer parmesan crispy Brussels sprouts with step-by-step instructions

Making our air fryer crispy brussels sprouts is easy if you follow our simple instructions.

Trim your Brussels sprouts and remove the outer leaves.

Preheat your air fryer to 375°F/190°C (see your air fryer manufacturer instructions).

Tip: For really tender inside Brussels sprouts, soak in warm water for 10 minutes, then drain the water and pat them dry.

Place your Brussels sprouts in a large mixing bowl, add extra virgin olive oil, maple syrup, vegetarian parmesan cheese, kosher salt, ground black pepper, and, using your hands, toss to coat the Brussels sprouts.

Now, add the Brussels sprouts to your air fryer basket in a single layer and cook for 10 minutes, removing the basket halfway to shake it to ensure they cook evenly.

Remove the basket, shake, and then cook for a further 1 – 3 minutes, so that the Brussels sprouts are nice and crispy.

Serve immediately in a bowl adding a sprinkling of vegetarian parmesan cheese.

BUT if you like really tender centers, then soaking them will help.

We suggest that you soak them for 10 minutes.

We like our brussels sprouts firm but tender, so we don’t soak.

It’s Brussels sprouts, this sweet tasty green ball of deliciousness was named after the Belgium city of Brussels.

So, despite many people referring to them as Brussel sprouts, the correct name is Brussels sprouts and should be spelled with a capital B.

But we don’t judge, and you’ll often hear us in the kitchen referring to them as air fryer Brussel sprouts!

Should I blanch my Brussels sprouts before roasting?

You don’t have to, not for this recipe.

Generally speaking, people blanch Brussels sprouts to ensure tender and crispy brussels sprouts, but with our air fryer recipe, you don’t need to.

Can you air fry frozen Brussels sprouts?

Sure, you can.

You’d cook them in a different way, but you can cook them.

Make them vegan

The only ingredient in our crispy air fryer Brussels recipe that isn’t suitable for vegans is the vegetarian parmesan cheese, so simply replace this with a vegan alternative and you are all set.

Can you eat Brussels sprouts cold?

Oh yes, you certainly can!

We love eating them straight from the fridge and judging by how quickly any leftovers disappear from the fridge, we’re not the only ones!

They would also make a delicious addition to a salad.

Dip them!

How do I store them?

We’re not exactly sure what leftovers are because all of Brussel sprouts are eaten in record time!

BUT if you do find yourself with leftovers then keep them in the fridge in an airtight container for up to 3 days.

You can reheat your Brussels sprouts in the air fryer, preheat the air fryer to 350°F/190°C, and air fry until hot.

You can freeze Brussels sprouts but be warned that they can turn a little mushy.

We think you’re better off eating them all fresh.
